A 9-man suspected armed robbery and kidnap gang who operated in Otuocha to Nsugbe axis has been  smashed by the joint security tax operatives comprising the Umueri vigilante team Aguleri vigilante team, Anam vigilante and Police operatives, leaving one of the suspects dead at the scene while the remaining 8 Suspects sustained various degrees of injuries.  The criminal gang camped in Anam Anambra West and specialised in kidnapping wealthy men from Anambra East and it's environs. The gang members operated mainly within communities in Anambra East like Aguleri, Umueri, Umuoba Anam, Nsugbe and 33 axis they have in the past terrorized, maimed and killed security personnel in the last few week's.
