No Condition Is Permanent In Life

NO CONDITION IS PERMANENT!! I was blessed to have had breakfast this morning with two Rev Fathers at a friend’s house this morning.  The Fathers came to take delivery of a car our host bought for one of the gentlemen to be soon ordained Catholic priests from their town.  In the course of our interaction, one of the Fathers told a story about the state of poverty his family went through to get to where they are today.  One day, in 1973, he, the Father and two of his siblings who were all undergraduates coincidentally came home same day on holiday.  His parents had them 9 children living in one small room just adjacent to the toilet in a dilapidated bungalow opposite Bigard Seminary Enugu.  The Rev. Father was then in the seminary and the other two were in military school.  Night came, the three undergraduates couldn’t find space to lay their heads.  So they waited for everyone to go to sleep before they could make do with the corridor (passage).  While they were fast asleep, the Lanlord

The Thirteen Igbo Calendar Months

Image
THE IGBO CALENDER. This Igbo Calendar is the most complete and accurate, carrying the correct spelling of the Igbo market days, and the Igbo 13-month Lunar Calendar, with their respective names. The Igbo Calendar is different from the Gregorian Calendar, as it is unique and adapted to Odinala na Omenala – the culture, beliefs, and spirituality of the Igbo people. The Igbo Calendar comprises four market days, namely Èké, Óriè, Àfọ̀, Nkwọ. These four market days make up the Igbo week – Izu. The four market days/names in the Igbo calendar are not just four exact days. We have Eke Ukwu and Eke Nta for instance – meaning ‘Big Eke’ and ‘Small Eke’. In this ‘Big’ and ‘Small’ identity, each of the Igbo market days appears twice in an 8-day cycle.  The Onwa (Igbo month) in the Igbo Calendar is therefore made up of 7 Izu (weeks), with 4 having the big market days, and 3 having the small market days – all of which make up 28 days before the appearance of the new moon.   The BIG WEEK (Izu) appear

Leadership and it hard knocks

Image
https://UmuerilandToday.blogspot.com It is important to critically reason & deduce why most things happen. " I truly don’t understand why it seems that those with poor governance  acumen/performance are the ones  who are quick to point out area where our leaders are struggling in their lines of duty. The irony is, these individuals are not only aware of the class  who are not doing well and struggling to achieve results, but they also know third-class ruler's who run multi-billion dollar projects.  For instance; There Igwe or PG from there village no matter how hard he is trying is not doing well.  The notion that people who couldn’t achieve good grades in their individual homes are the ones who will open their mouth wide in criticizing those whom home are well managed by them. Perfect example is that a man who is not living with the wife cannot be a good marriage counselor.  The hype of this fellow is just a consolatory myth propagated by low-budget Kiyosakis. It is actu
