Synod Of Niger West


HON. CHINWEZE CALLS ON THE BODY OF CHRIST TO CHAMPION PEACE IN ANAMBRA EAST.


Governor Chukwuma Soludo of Anambra State on Sunday sixth October,2024 reiterated the important role of the church in fostering peace and development in the state .


Mr Governor made the assession at St Gabriel Cathedral Umueri Anambra East Council Area on the occasion of the fifth Synod of the Diocese of the Niger West .


According to Mr Governor " the society we see today is quite different from where we are before now, our youth are drifting into idolatry and inhuman practices that progressive societies have left behind."


"It's time for the church to stand firm in his teaching and save the society " Mr Governor emphasized .


In his remark,   the Anambra East Local Government Chairman, Hon . Ifeanyichukwu Chinweze pleased with the church to champion peace among communities in Anambra East. This according to him is the only way to attract meaningful development in the council area.


" Let the church help the government with the campaign of peace , peace in the family, Umunna , clan , village and towns. This is the only way out for us as a local government area . 


"My administration policy is centred on this and will always ensure brotherly co existence" 



Others who spoke on the occasion includes His Royal Highness Igwe Sir Bennett Izuchukwu Emeka Okebo II of Umueri and Hon. Chinedu Obidigwe ( Former Member of House of Representative Anambra East and West federal constituency)  thanked Mr Governor for his wonderful work he is doing in the state and reaffirmed the solidarity of Ndi Anambra East to his administration.



The synod was presided over by the Lord Bishop of Niger West Diocese, His Lordship, The Rt. Rev. Johnson N. Ekwe, Ph.D  with the " Concept of Idolatry in the Bible and its effects on the Igbo"

Unknown Youths From Nsugbe Attacks Umueri Project

21 Newly Elected Mayor's of Anambra State

 SOLUDO SWEARS-IN 21 NEWLY ELECTED LOCAL GOVERNMENT MAYORS/DEPUTIES IN ANAMBRA By Christian ABURIME The twenty one newly-elected local government Mayors have been sworn-in. They were sworn-in alongside the Deputy Mayors at the Executive Chambers, Government House, Awka where the state Governor, Professor Chukwuma Charles Soludo, CFR, engaged with them. Chibueze Ofobuike (Aguata), Ifeanyi Chiweze (Anambra East), Fidelis Nnazo (Anambra West), Romanus Ibekwe (Anaocha), ThankGod Anago (Awka North), Chinedu Okafor (Awka South), and Alphonsus Ofumelu (Ayamelum), were sworn-in. INVASION BY NSUGBE YOUTHS SECOND TIME

 Within space of six months Nneyi Community in Umueri Anambra East LGA of Anambra state has been attack by it neighbor Nsugbe for undisclosed reasons. On 27th May 2023 during the mounting of a Gantry billboard by Umueri Progressive Forum, the engineer and his boys were attacked, their vehicles damaged some of the local guide that was stationed there were beaten to stupor and he recognized them to be from Nsugb e.  The President General of Nsugbe Town Union and his vigilante Chief denied knowledge of the dastardly act and said that the perpetrators  were not from Nsugbe, Nneyi people allowed this to be in the interest of peace.  The wanton destruction of lives and properties of Ndi Umueri by Nsugbe Youths this morning as many structure were destroyed many were maimed leaving them between life and death. Nneyi people are yet to understand what happened to them as they cannot explain what happened.
