DON'T ALLOW MISGUIDED ELEMENTS TO RAILROAD YOU

INTO NEEDLESS CONFLICT WITH ANAMBRA EAST MAYOR, AKAMILILO COUNCIL TELLS IKENGA UMUERI PEOPLE

The NDI AKAMILILO  COUNCIL (NAC), on Friday, advised the people of Ikenga Umueri Quarter in Umueri of Anambra East Local Government Area of Anambra State not to allow some misguided elements to railroad them into needless conflicts with the Leadership of Anambra East or acts of infamy.

This was contained in a statement titled “The Subtle Act of Distraction: “Putting the records straight” signed by Hon Kachi Nzedigwe "Omekannia", on behalf of the Akamililo Council and made available to Journalists in Otuocha the council Secretariat.

Hon Kachi Nzedigwe said the claim that the Anambra East Mayor refused to act or not serious in working towards a permanent solution to the land dispute  between Ikenga Umueri and it isiokwe neighbor whom recently had skirmishes. is not true. As the claim is baseless as those that said  so  are not abreast with situation of things on ground, most of the allegations they peddled in the past they have never been able to prove it or provide any fact regards the allegations.

According to him “The  Ndi Akamililo Council has watched with utter consternation the attempt by some self-styled individuals parading themselves as diaspora elements to turn things on its head with respect to the place of the Umueri people in Anambra East. More concern Is their false narrative and claims that the Mayor and the State government refused to do anything without pointedly identifying the previous efforts made regards boundary delineation and conflict resolutions made so far by the working Governor and the Mayor of Anambra East.

“Against the background of this false narrative by these ignorant and unscrupulous persons, it is therefore important to set the record straight and to state unequivocally that the Anambra East Local Govt  Mayor has so far put to rest the land dispute between Irugege Umudiani Umueri and Mgboko igboezulu Aguleri, the crisis between Umuekete igboezulu Aguleri and Ikem Ivite Nando, Umuoji Umuoba Anam and Egbeagu Eziagulu Otu Aguleri, a commitment put in place to mediate the Nneyi Umueri and Nsugbe land dispute, while that of Ikenga Umueri and isiokwe is being looked into as previously a panel of enquiry set up by Dr Willie Obiano tenure led by AVM Chiobi has a white paper on it which is yet to be implemented, all this are achieved within 7 months in office. 

Ikenga Umueri people are known to be enlightened and very hardworking among the people and Quarters of Umueri community in Anambra State, they should not allow themselves to be used as elements of distraction rather they should work with the state and the local government to achieve sustainable peace that will usher in development instead of peddling rumour, falsehood and unnecessary tension.
