Don't Put God To Test!

Do Not Put The Lord To The Test: The Tragic Tales Of Men Of God Who Died In Vain While Trying To Prove God's Power In An Act Of Faith Social Updates Sept 30, 2021 Believing in the Almighty and having faith in God is one of the highest recognitions that we can give Him. But for the love of all things holy, we shouldn’t blindly test the Lord.  So yes, as believers we know that faith can move mountains but how far would you go to prove that the power of God is at work in your life? If you are hoping to part the red sea or walk into any nearby zoo and have a chit-chat with lions like biblical Daniel did then think twice about it. Because let me warn you God doesn’t have a lot of free time to pay attention to people who want to show off for unnecessary reasons. Don’t believe me?  Here are four instances that people perished or died while attempting to make a point about how powerful God is. Like I said earlier, anyone bent on proving God’s power should really take lessons fro...

War on VAT

Image
No, Mr. President, There Is No Going Back on VAT, Let The Mud Fight Begin WIKE AND THE VAT LAW – “You grow the kola, we eat it” For more than half a century, since July 29 1967 to be exact, the North has gotten whatever it wants from Nigeria through brigandage, force of arms or outright murder of Southern loudmouths and adventurers. A war over consumption tax that has the potential to shake Nigeria to the ground is raging across the land. This simmering war has the unspoken capacity to liberate Nigeria from the stranglehold of a grasping Federal Government or otherwise break the nation altogether. The VAT war unleashed by the indomitable Barrister Ezenwon Nyesom Wike, Governor of Rivers State, who looks more like a street brawler than the fine attorney that he is, can potentially rejig Nigeria to what everybody wants or we all end up in a sinkhole which nobody wants. Governor Wike in true rage for his peoples’ inability to enjoy the tax benefits due to them by law, has gone to and...

The governor of Kaduna State, Nasir El-Rufai, has stated that it is difficult to execute the Anti-Open Grazing laws which his counterparts in the Southern part of Nigeria have passed to curb insecurity in the region.  He, then, cautioned them not to deploy much energy on the laws, adding that it would take time for it to materialise. Speaking during a visit to the headquarters of the All Progressives Congress (APC) on Tuesday, El-Rufai revealed that the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has backed his state with N7.5 billion out of the N10 billion required to build a ranch. He also disclosed that since there are over 14 grazing reserves in Kaduna State, he would be gla...

Gauging the low election activities going on in the state, the developing story perhaps, wouldn't be far from the reality on ground, that Anambra governorship election scheduled to take place on Saturday, November 6, 2021 may no longer be sacrosanct. The political climate in Anambra is cold and quiet, the momentum is lost, the spirit is dampened; there's little or no electioneering activities going on in the state. Without mincing words, the political process leading to the polls is on all-time low. According to recent findings, the major political actors in the state have all deserted the courtrooms, abandoned the streets and presently taking refuge in their homes, obvio...
