APC PRIMARIES AND IT MODALITIES

*All Progressives Congress National Working Committee inaugurates Anambra APC Primary Election  committee.*
... come with your originals says Chairman.

On Tuesday, 22nd August 2017, the National Working Committee of All Progressives Congress set up the 5 man Committee that will conduct APC Primary Election in Anambra State. The committee was headed by Governor Kashim Shettima of Borno State.

The primary election which has 12 aspirants has been scheduled for Saturday, August 26. A separate appeal committee is to be led by Dr. Hassan Lawal.

The APC National Organising Secretary of the Party, Senator Osita Izunaso, inaugurated the two committees yesterday at the party’s national secretariat in Abuja.

Fielding questions from journalists after the inauguration, Governor Shettima said He and the chairman of the appeal committee could not be bought by any of the aspirants.
He said his committee was committed to the conduct of a free, fair and transparent primary election that will produce a popular and vibrant candidate to fly the party flag come November 18th 2017.

Asked whether he could not be influenced by any of the aspirants, Shettima said, “Look at me, do I have a price tag? The truth of the matter is that I also have here with me an elder statesman, Dr. Hassan Lawal: he has no price tag. He is the chairman of the appeal committee. We are going together to Anambra with his own team; conducting primary is not a rocket science if you put in place a just and fair framework,” he said.

“Certainly, there would be agitations, but believe me, it would be addressed and those aspirants who believe in the supremacy of one man, one vote, would at the end of the day smile,” he added.

He went further to list the requirements for accrediting a delegate who will be qualify to cast his vote to any aspirant of his choice in the party's primary.

*The chairman said all the delegates are required to present to the committee during accreditation their*
*(1) Original Party membership List with their Passport        attached to it.*
*(2) Original PERMANENT VOTERS CARD (PVC).* Or
*(3) Original DRIVERS LICENSE.* Or
*(4) Original NATIONAL IDENTITY CARD.* Or
*(5) Original INTERNATIONAL PASSPORT.*

It is expected from every delegate to present one of the above listed means of identification to the accreditation team before he/she will be cleared to vote at the primary election venue. *He urged the Delegates to wash their hands very well for Card Reader will be used for accreditation and identification.*

*The chairman WARNED that any delegate who will come with PHOTOCOPY of the above listed requirements STAND TO BE DISQUALIFIED.*
*He WARNED that the accreditation team cannot give ATTENTION to any delegate who present/tender PHOTOCOPY of any of the above listed means of Identification.*

However, the news coming from Anambra said that One aspirant is going round given contrary information to the delegates which is misleading.
*They are telling the delegates to come to primary election venue with PHOTOCOPY of their Voters Card, Drivers License, National ID card and International Passport, with ulterior motive of seeing them disqualified in order to pave way for their choice to emerge.*

These aspirant who are given this misleading information want those who will buy their idea to be disqualified. While the same aspirant have already secured ORIGINALS of the above listed Identification requirements for their own delegates. His ulterior motive is to see only his delegates cleared by the team, while the delegates who support other aspirant would be disqualified.
We gathered on good authority that One Former Housd of Assembly member has been contracted with the job of producing fake Voters card and Party to impersonate for some delegates. *The matter has been reported to DSS.*

Earlier, Senator Izunaso reiterated the party’s stand that it had not zoned the governorship ticket to any senatorial district. Izunaso, who said the winner would emerge through a simple majority ballot, added that over 4,500 delegates from the 21 local government areas would participate.
